Bricker ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Bricker mobile and web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service. By using Bricker, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: Name, email address, and phone number when you register.
  • Profile information: Your name, contact details, and account preferences.
  • Project data: Construction project details, expense records, vendor contacts, material lists, site diary entries, and labour logs you enter into the app.
  • Property data: Home management records, maintenance logs, utility bills, and rental property information including tenant details, lease agreements, and rent payment records.
  • Tenant information: Names, phone numbers, and lease details of tenants you manage — entered by you as the property owner.
  • Uploaded files: Receipt photos, property documents, and attachments you upload to the Service.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for push notification delivery.
  • Usage data: App features accessed, screens viewed, and actions taken — used to improve the Service.
  • Crash reports: Error logs and crash data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to send you reminders about overdue rent, lease expiry, and upcoming bills.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Bricker Service
  • Sync your project and property data across your devices
  • Send push notifications and SMS reminders (overdue rent, lease expiry, bill due dates)
  • Send WhatsApp messages to tenants on your behalf when you use the notification feature
  • Verify your phone number via OTP
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Detect and fix bugs and crashes
  • Improve features based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS), a secure cloud database platform. File uploads (receipts, documents) are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

We use Firebase(Google) for push notification delivery and crash reporting. Firebase is governed by Google's privacy policies.

We use Twilio for SMS and WhatsApp message delivery. Phone numbers used for notifications are processed by Twilio in accordance with their privacy policy.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — database and file storage
  • Firebase (Google) — push notifications and crash reporting
  • Twilio — SMS and WhatsApp notifications

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data — via your profile settings in the app
  • Delete your account and all associated data — contact us at support@bricker.in
  • Export your data — contact us at support@bricker.in
  • Opt out of push notifications — via your device notification settings

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

7. Children's Privacy

Bricker is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@bricker.in and we will delete it.

8. Camera and Photo Library

Bricker requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you attach receipt photos and property documents to your records. We do not access, scan, or upload any photos other than those you explicitly select within the app.

9. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for events such as overdue rent, upcoming lease expiry, and bill due dates. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. Your push notification token is stored securely and used only to deliver notifications to your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification through the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
